Visio WBS Modeler add-in 2010 "System.OutOfMemoryException"

I'm importing an MS Project plan into Visio with WBS Modeler add-in 2010. My Project plan has about 900 lines. After ~30min of importing, there is a out of memory exception. The visio file is about 1,5GB at this moment. I cannot believe that this is the biggest Project plan anybody ever was trying to import.

So, I wanted to ask if this is a problem of my 32-Bit office (in 64-Bit OS) or if the problem comes from somewhere else?

Hi,

According to your description, I suppose that the issue may be caused by some reasons.

Is your MS Project version 2010 32-bit?

The error message "System.OutOfMemoryException" means there are some issue in import process.

I recommend you copy a less part of the project file to a new file and import it toVisio.

If it works correctly, the Office programmes are ok.

We may check the original files with 900 lines.

And then we add the size of virtual memory, and test it.

For more detail information, please refer to the following link:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows7/change-the-size-of-virtual-memory

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows7/preventing-low-memory-problems

If it works incorrectly, I suggest you can repair the Office programmes.

Hi,

I have tested importing a smaller project file. It is not the fastest but it works. Office should be ok. I will test the memory tipps and report results.

And yes, project is 32-bit, too.

thanks

Hi,

I have tested importing a smaller project file. It is not the fastest but it works. Office should be ok. I will test the memory tipps and report results.

And yes, project is 32-bit, too.

thanks
